This little man is at his grandma and grandpa's house until Wednesday. I miss him.
Grandma Bloom and her 2 newest granddaughters, Harper and Elizabeth.

Henry and his cousin Jack in action.
It's always hard to catch those first smiles, so I was pretty excited to finally get one!

Harper and I are having some girl time the next couple of days. We had a busy weekend of traveling and fun and it seems to have messed up baby girl's sleeping habits so it's not as fun of a day as I was hoping for, but we're still trying to smile. It was a ton of fun to go to my parent's house and see all the cousins. The older they get the more fun it gets. I love it.

And because I'm obsessed with finding similar photos, here's another one.....

My So Called Life

You guessed it. I haven't done a single thing except dink around on the computer. It's so quiet in the house right now.... I love it!

So, I rented the one and only season of My So Called Life from the library. I was obsessed with this show back in the day. It brings back so many memories to see it again! Though watching it when I was in high school, I thought Angela and her friends were so cool and now that I'm a parent, especially to a girl, this show scares the living daylights out of me.

What's your favorite My So Called Life memory?

Happy One Month

I feel like she's been around for forever, yet it feels like just yesterday that we were in the hospital. We've had some hard moments, but not too many yet. She still just eats and sleeps a lot. We've had some rough nights, but many more good ones....especially the last 2 nights with a 6 hour stretch of sleep. Woo-Hoo! But overall, we're just so happy. I love our family of four. I feel so content with how things are going and am so thankful for my beautiful children and amazing husband. We've been spending our evenings out in the porch holding Harper and laughing at the weird and funny stuff Henry says/does. Things are good. They're both down for a nap and I'm going to attempt to get things done for once instead of napping myself. Hope you are all having a great Thursday. Bring on the weekend!

Best and Worst

Harper had her best night ever on Friday and only woke up once. Awesome! Harper had her worst night ever last night and I don't think slept longer than an hour at a time. Not so awesome. But this morning while she was lying in bed with me she let out a ton of smiles. Very awesome.
*Update* My momma is always telling me how much babies like to sleep on their tummies, but everyone else in this world tries to scare you from doing it. Henry slept on his tummy once he could roll onto it himself at about 5 months and still does it. Well, I tried it for naps today and she's sleeping beautifully. Quietly...aka, no grunting. Hopefully it works tonight too!*

We had a great weekend. We've been really busy lately so it was nice to have a Saturday all to ourselves. We started with a trip to Great Harvest Bread Company. I'm in love with this place and it's only a few blocks from our house. Then we just played in the porch for most of the day. It's Henry's current obsession and is great this time of year before it gets too hot. We also went downtown to the library and ran into our family and chatted out in the nice sun while Henry and his cousin ran around. It was just all around lovely.

We went to our first outdoor garage sale on Friday. I knew there would be a lot of toys so I told Henry that he could get one. After all, it was our first one! He got a new fire truck.
The obsession. The porch and playing with pasta. He can do this for hours. It's great! I lock the screen door, open the window from the living room and leave the front door open so he can get in and out and I can hear him. He loves to wear his cowboy hat. 9 times out of 10 this is how he chooses to put it on.
Hope you all have a great Monday!! Harper will be one month on Thursday. Pictures of her to come....

This morning was great. Henry slept in well and was in a really sweet mood. Harper was her usual content-self, and I was feeling good. I made an appt for Harper because I thought she may have thrush, so we were about to head out the door. It seems as though every time we're about to head out, the last 5 minutes both children are crying, but not today! Until Henry tripped and fell and hit mouth on the edge of a new toy and out came the blood. Perfect timing. We were going to the doctor anyways, so I'd just have him take a look. Henry finally calmed down, we got in the car and were off. The doctor's office went well. Got medicine for Harper and me, decided that Henry just got a cut on his gums and would be fine, and then decided to head across the street to Wal-Mart. Oh, I hate Wal-Mart! But it was right there and I haven't been grocery shopping in weeks so I was desperate. We took our time shopping since we were waiting on the prescription and both kids were doing well. I was pleasantly surprised that my first trip to get groceries was going well! Then we get back to the pharmacy and still had to wait. Then Harper started crying because she was hungry. Henry still had some blood on his face, mixed with chocolate and gold fish around his mouth, and insisted on taking off his shoes and socks. Now, if you've ever been to the 8th street Wal-Mart, you will understand when I say that this made us fit right in with the crowd. Screaming baby. Dirty boy. Finally got my medicine and made it home in one piece. I've been successfully getting both kids to sleep at the same time in the afternoon so I've been getting a nap in as well. It's great! We're all just waking up and I'm feeling good. We're meeting RJ to go out to Chick-Fil-A for supper. It's their deal where if you save your receipt from your meal today and bring it in next month some time you get the exact same meal for free! Plus, Cinnabon is giving away from Cinnabon bites, and Maggie Moos is giving away a free scoop of ice cream. All in honor of it being April 15th.

Yes, I'm really enjoying having 2 children. Makes my days much more exciting....

Weekend

What a great, busy weekend! We had an awesome Good Friday service at church, went to introduce Harper to both sets of Great-Grandparents on Saturday, and enjoyed a lovely Easter Sunday with our church family and friends. Our Easter service was great, but I forget that with a new baby you miss most of the church.....

After all the fun and late nights (and too much candy) we're having a rough start to our day. One of the days when you look at the clock and are amazed at how slowly the time is going! So we're going to try some early naps (all 3 of us) and hope that helps.

Can't wait for the nice weather this week! Looking forward to some good times at the park.

Gotta love little baby girl shoes.
And flowers.

My favorite little boy and girl combo. Ever.

Like Brother, Like Sister

I love seeing Harper in a pose that reminds me so strongly of a picture of Henry when he was a baby. Then I search through the hundreds of photos on our computer until I find the right one. Here's an example from today.

They both do a funny little thing with their hands. I think it's real cute.

Hope you are all having a great Thursday!

It feels like just yesterday that I posted about the radio being stolen out of our Jeep....

I went outside this morning at about 10 am to pack up the kids so we could meet a friend at the mall. I walked around to the passenger side to see that the passenger door was open. What!?! I looked inside and there it was.....an empty space where our radio had been. I started the car and it had no problem turning over at all, so it couldn't have been too long since this had all gone down. Oh, I was mad. But graciously, our cds were left behind (thanks, robber). And graciously, I had left the car unlocked so I made his/her job nice and easy. That's just how I roll.

Nice, huh?

Times like these remind me that we don't live in the suburbs.....or anywhere close...(though I realize this can happen anywhere), but that's fine with me. It'd take a lot more than 2 radios to be stolen to get me to move away.

Man On Wire

I may be a little dorky, but I love me a good documentary. We've been on a bit of a movie-kick lately and went to the library on Saturday to rent a few flicks. We got Man on Wire, and it was great. Fascinating, actually. I highly recommend it.

Go figure, but I'm really tired today. Harper is the easiest baby during the day, but our nights have been a little rough lately with getting her comfortable to sleep. Or maybe her grunting doesn't mean she's not comfortable? I don't know. We'll try again tonight.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

It's almost Friday. It's almost Friday. It's almost Friday!

It's actually been a really good week at home, but I'm not used to being stuck inside so much. I'm really needing to get out! It'd be nice if it were at least warm enough to go for a walk. I did venture out for the first time by myself with both kids to go to a Bible Study at church Tuesday morning and it gave me a lot of confidence that I can do it again. Friday morning we'll head out to MOPS and I'm really looking forward to it. Next week? Maybe the mall! I need to practice getting the double stroller set up. It's mammoth.

Henry had a quick flu bug yesterday that lasted from 5 to midnight. It scared me. RJ took care of him all night and Harper and I stayed away. It was so sad. But after a really long nap this morning, he was back to his normal happy self. Thank goodness it was short and that no one else got it!

RJ's cleaning. Henry and Harper are sleeping. And I'm off to bed.
