Another Reason to LOVE Walgreen's

We live just a couple of sweet blocks away from a Walgreen's, and MAN, I love it.

Sometimes (when it's not 20 below ZERO) I'll walk over there. Just for fun.
A lot of times I'll drive over there. Cuz I'm lazy. And it's COLD.

The other night I was there and they had ice cream on sale. So naturally, I bought some.
Then I ate some.
Then I thought it tasted kind of funny.
Then noticed the "Best By" date was from August of '09.

And can you believe this is the 3rd time we've gotten old ice cream from this Walgreen's.
(This story is thrilling and life changing....please stay with me.)

So I considered broadcasting my dissapointment, but thought I should first let them know about it and give them a chance to redeem themselves. I went to their website and sent a nice, yet firm, complaint. Within an hour, I got a call from the store manager who appologized and is sending a $20 Walgreen's gift card in the mail.

So a few things can be learned from this:

#1. Don't mess with my ice cream.
#2. If you have a complaint, take it straight to the top.
#3. Do it with gentleness.
#4. Be sure and respond after all is said and done thanking the manager for her generosity and promptness in taking care of their customers.
#4. Continue to love Walgreen's.

#5 (but probably not going to use the $20 to buy more ice cream....just sayin'....)

thats awesome! glad they fixed their problem! we did that once when we were going out for a nice date night to cheesecake factory, they seated us next to a huge group of kids that were sweaty and drity and screaming. not my idea of a romantic date. and the waiter was so busy with them he forgot us several times. so we sent an email and got a call and a $50 free giftcard!

Woo-hoo! That is one super nice kick-back for the inconvenience! I kind of like old ice cream...no temptation!

Good story, Abby! Yeah, we've had a few old items from Walgreens. The other day Troy came home with WAY outdated hotdogs (treat for the boys) from our local grocery store in Carlise. Yuck. As if fresh hotdogs are any good....old hotdogs are just scary! Anyway, thanks for the reminder of doing things the kind way!
